The Miner Birds - A Day of Celebration

As part of Dr Lisa Blower's ongoing collaborative work with the North Staffs Miners Wives Action Group, there will be a series of events at Keele in Town on Thursday April 10th 2pm-8pm running with ArtsKeele to commemorate their four decades of activism since the Miners' Strike, and to draw awareness to and celebrate both the 12-image exhibition that is up at Keele in Town until May 9th curated by photojournalist Kevin Hayes, and the rehousing of the NSMWAG archive in Keele's special collections as an important contribution to the city's local history.

We are especially pleased to be welcoming Keele alumni and social activist Mike Jackson as our headline speaker who will be in conversation with Rose Hunter (Chair of NSMWAG) and Helen Parr (Keele Institute for Social Inclusion) from 6.45pm.

Events are ticketed but all free.
